Hathaways of Haworths Brontes evening Dec 8th 2012

Hathaways of Haworth will be holding  a Bronte evening  event at  West Lane Baptist church  between 7.30  pm and 10 pm ,the talk will begin at 8pm, supper will be at 9pm

The night will include a costumed talk undressing the Brontes which will look at what can be discovered about the Brontes by their clothing and their comments on clothing in their novels, It will also include a look at recent possible”Bronte” portraits and show how costume and dress can be used to help shed light on if a portrait may or may not be the sisters

It will be followed by a  light buffet supper  of  typical Victorian foods such as raised pies alongside more modern dishes

Both before and after the talk there will be a chance to look at the displays of Bronte era replica gowns alongside genuine Victorian era items .

There will be costumes and displays around the room showing the different eras of each Bronte novel and a display of a genuine writing slope and a chance to try your hand at using a dip pen  or wax seal.You can  also view and handle exact size replicas of the diary papers and  the “little books .

Tickets cost £12 for adults and include supper.

Half price tickets are  also available,,,

to Bronte society members ,teachers ,those of any age in full-time education and young adults.Children under 12 are free with an attending adult.
